How do I learn? A lecture by Kimberley Moulton
This lecture, part of the AGENCY curatorial intensive, examines how Indigenous space-time methodologies can guide curatorial work with museum collections and place. Dr Kimberley Moulton considers the continuum of knowledge that emerges when artists and communities activate objects, spaces, and sites as mnemonic portals between Ancestral space and the present.
Moulton explores Indigenous temporality in relation to place and Ancestral belongings in museum collections, and the role of contemporary artists in re-storying these spaces beyond the historic past and colonial centre. Drawing on examples from recent projects at the intersection of contemporary art, historical archive, and place, she discusses how deep-time relational ecologies and materialities guide her curatorial practice of learning from Country, community, and collections.
