Our Place in the Stars: Talk and Telescope Viewing

Join the Auckland Astronomical Society for an inspiring journey through the universe with Niven Brown, Treasurer and Outreach Coordinator of the Auckland Astronomical Society and Trustee of Te Whatu Stardome.

In this interactive presentation, Our Place in the Stars, Niven will take you on a voyage from Earth through our Solar System, the Milky Way, and beyond to the furthest reaches of the observable universe. Discover the immense scale of the cosmos and gain a deeper understanding of humanity's place among the stars.

Niven holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and founded the successful engineering company kanDO Innovation in 2007. Since retiring from business in 2020, he has dedicated his time to sharing his passion for astronomy through public outreach and education.

Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to observe the night sky through telescopes (weather permitting).
