Design and architecture bus tour with Carin Wilson and Jade Kake

This final Craft Curriculum session tours significant design and architecture sites across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland with pioneering designer Carin Wilson and architect Jade Kake. The day begins at Objectspace before visiting One New Zealand Group Limited to view Wilson's sculpture Ngā Poutiriao Torohū, then Whakaata Māori in East Tāmaki to explore building interiors Wilson conceptualised and the new Hawaikirangi production facility, concluding with a tour of Wilson's retrospective exhibition He maramara tupu aranga at Objectspace.

Wilson (Mātaatua, Ngāti Awa, Tūhourangi) is a pivotal figure in New Zealand design, founding Studio Pasifika and leading advocacy for Māori participation in design and urban development since the 1970s. Kake is an architectural designer, founder of Matakohe Architecture and Urbanism, and Senior Lecturer at Auckland University of Technology.
